How to Reset Citrix Receiver and Citrix Workspace ?

Sometimes it may be necessary to reset Citrix Receiver or Citrix Workspace. This can normally resolve unexpected behaviour and/or problems.

You can reset Citrix Receiver or Citrix Workspace using the icon in the taskbar or using the command line.

(Please ensure TVT is not in use before continuing)

Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 & 10, 11:

Using the icon in the taskbar:

1) Right click on the taskbar icon and choose 'Advanced Preferences':

 

2) Click on the option 'Reset Citrix Workspace':

 

3) Click on 'Yes, reset Citrix Workspace':

You can also run the below command from a Command Prompt:

Open the Run window by clicking the right mouse button on the start menu and selecting "Run".

Enter/Copy the text below (with quotes) and click the "OK" button:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\ICA Client\SelfServicePlugin\CleanUp.exe" -cleanUser

 

 

You will see the dialogue box from step 3 (above) that asks you to confirm you would like to Reset Citrix Workspace or Receiver. Please click the "Yes, reset Citrix Receiver" button.

You may see Login prompts for Citrix Workspace, these are not mandatory and you can safely Close or Cancel these windows.
